Google Meet is an enterprise-grade video conferencing application. The major limitation of this app is; it is included with G Suite and G Suite for Education. But members without G Suite can be attendee for the Meetings. In this blog we will go through How to start a video meeting? and How to join a meeting?
Before you start a video meeting, be sure you're satisfying the requirements of Google Meet. Google Meet requirements
I. How to start a video meeting
You can start a video meeting from your Computer/Laptop OR using Mobile app. A. From Computer/Laptop device To start a video meeting through Google Meet using Computer/Laptop, follow the steps STEP 1: In a web browser, enter https://meet.google.com STEP 2: Click Join or start a meeting.
STEP 3: Enter a nickname or keep it blank to start your own meeting. Click Continue.
STEP 4: Click on Join now button
STEP 5: To add anyone to a meeting, choose any of the following option:
5.1: Click Copy joining info and paste the meeting details into an email or another app.
5.2: Click Add people and choose an option:
i. Under the Invite section, select a name or enter an email address and click Send invite. ii. Under the Call section, enter a phone number and press Call (Call section is not for Indian region. It is only for US & Canada as of now)
(Note: You can send a meeting link to people outside of your organization, but someone from within your organization need to give them access)
B. Start a meeting from the Meet app You can start and join video meetings anytime, anywhere on your mobile device using the Meet mobile app. STEP 1: Open the Meet app Meet. STEP 2: Click on New meeting. STEP 3: Type Meeting code and enter a meeting code or nickname (this is optional). Then click on Join meeting. Now we will see, how to join a video meeting using Google Meet. II. How to Join a video meeting You can join a video meeting through various ways like using meeting URL, Meet App, from Google Calender event, meeting room, third party options or even you can join without a Google account. We will focus on most commonly used options. OPTION 1: Join with a meeting link URL STEP 1: Click the meeting link sent to you in a chat message or email. STEP 2: Follow the onscreen prompts to join the meeting. An existing participant might need to approve you if you try to join another organization’s meeting or don't have a Google Account. OPTION 2: Join from Meet In Meet, you can select a scheduled event or you can enter a meeting code or nickname. Select a scheduled event:
